Event description
Today, an online pharmacy experienced a critical system failure caused by a cyberattack. The virus introduced by the hackers encrypted the pharmacy database, blocking access to the drug catalog and making it impossible to place orders online. The attack prevented more than 500,000 people, including children and the elderly, from receiving vital medications on time.
The residents turned to local pharmacies only to be faced with a shortage of medicines and inflated prices. Hospitals are ready to provide people with the necessary medical care, but most drugs are limited in stock, and patients have to wait for the next deliveries.
Cybersecurity specialists are working with law enforcement to investigate the incident. So far, there is no information on who’s behind this attack.
